We come to Westport 2-3 times a year and this was our worst experience in any hotel unfortunately.

We didn’t bother complaining when we left but we paid €200 for the night and could have paid €270 down the road for an experience I know would have been 10x better. Featuring an indoor pool, Clew Bay Hotel offers contemporary rooms close to Westport House. All in all it was obvious that the ingredients were just cheap and poor quality. Apple juice and orange juice tasted like the powdered stuff 🤢 rashers were fatty like gammon. smoked salmon was hard like it had been left out uncovered overnight. I honestly don’t know how you could stand over the food it was not nice. We had dinner in maddens it was bland and horrible.

Because we had to keep the windows open it was so loud from the road. The carpet was soaking wet coming out of the bathroom so maybe this was the reason for the smell? Room very small and cramped. Room stank 🤢 we had to keep our windows open it was a horrible musty smell. We stayed here for one night, it was the last hotel available in Westport but we thought it’d be fine.
